Sustainable Packaging

I take action in my personal life to try and live more sustainably, on occasion, my personal passion and work intersect. Across categories I’ve led teams in developing fun packaging with a purpose; meeting organizational goals to reduce waste, lower our carbon footprint, and achieve cost savings. Teams have worked with innovative materials, and unexpected design constraints. Often seen as an entry point for larger sustainability initiatives, packaging has gone beyond reflecting the values of the brand, but the consumer as well.

  • Beauty

A brand dedicated to using organic ingredients and using post-consumer recycled PET when possible, takes it one step further by introducing a sugarcane polyethylene tube for a handful of hair care products

  • E-commerce

As part of company rebrand, developed a new universal packaging language that was elevated, recyclable, and cost effective. With Supply Chain and Operations teams, identified common box sizes that could be leveraged across all products

  • Unnecessary Paper & Ink

Rolled out shift from multi-page paper booklet quickstart guides to digital. Achieved this through implementation of QR codes for more complex products, or printing instructions on box, reducing final BOM cost

  • Retail

Helped introduce a DTC brand into retail stores across the country. Removed unnecessary air from product, which resulted in lower freight costs and reduced pillow box size significantly to allow more units on retail shelves

The Astro A10 Generation 2 headset is Astro Gaming’s most sustainable headset to date. It’s certified CarbonNeutral, utilizes an all paper packaging from FSC certified forests, features replaceable ear cushions and headband pad, and the headset itself uses 19% certified post consumer recycled plastic.
